Find Werklund Centres' largest exhibition outside of our walls and step into the creative process. The next time you find yourself staring at your phone at the 1st Street C-train station downtown Calgary - look up. That collection of six video screens is TELUS’ Art While You Wait, a digital exhibition visualizing the creative processes and stories of Werklund Centre Connects artists, lining the outside of the Len Werry building. These vibrant videos will take you behind-the-scenes of local artists working in mediums like glass blowing, pottery, filmmaking, painting, and more. Keep watching - it's worth the wait.

CONTEMPORARY VICE

CONTEMPORARY VICE is a non-binary emerging artist based out of Calgary, Canada. They create using a visual language that speaks to children and adults alike. With a soulful collision of characters, colours and patterns, this one-of-a-kind style is making waves. VICE is eager to have a positive, vibrant impact on the world. Through dreamlike visuals and spirited imagination, they hope to ignite the wonder that lives within us all.

Moey Blanco

Blanco currently resides and works as a full-time artist in Calgary, Alberta. He associates himself with a postmodern art movement called Superflat; a term coined by Takashi Murakami used to describe a movement that blends a two-dimensional (flat) graphic design with the more contemplative interests of fine art. The “flat” In superflat means not only the flatness of pictorial composition, but also remarks on the flat, shallowness of consumer culture, something the movement has been doubly said to either celebrate or critically exploit.
