AC-OurStory-Tasha-Leadership-portrait-4x3

After seven years working in marketing agencies, Tasha took the step of intersecting her passion with her skills and joined Werklund Centre as Director, Marketing & Communications, leading the brand launch for Arts Commons (now Werklund Centre), as well as several seasons of marketing campaigns for Arts Commons Presents. After 5 years in this role, she made the change to Communications Strategist, with her primary focus on the Arts Commons Transformation (ACT) project - now the Werklund Centre Transformation (WCT). Today, as Vice President of Strategic Projects for Werklund Centre, she is responsible for advancing Werklund Centre’s Reconciliation Strategy and a variety of short and long-term projects.

Tasha’s parents were active arts supporters, with season tickets to Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects, and the Calgary Opera, which they shared with her as she began showing interest. Her mom was a docent at the Glenbow Museum and introduced her to many Canadian artists, which provided her with her most prized possession - a pen portrait done of her at eight years old, by prairie artist Illingworth Kerr. As a young adult, Tasha became a regular at One Yellow Rabbit’s High Performance Rodeo. Today, she serves on their Board and governance committee.

Along with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Culture, Tasha holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and also achieved her MBA in 2014.

Unless she's traveling, Tasha spends most of her free time with her dog Lily, exploring inner city parks or enjoying lake life in BC.
