Tim Meduna
Artist Biography
Tim Meduna is a Nigerian-born, Calgary-based multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and creative director working at the intersection of photography, film, and cultural storytelling.
His practice explores themes of identity, migration, masculinity, love and ancestral memory, drawing from Yoruba traditions to craft narratives that resonate across diasporic and local contexts.
In 2024, Tim was selected for the Black2TheFuture residency at Emmedia Gallery & Production Society, where he premiered Ìyanuolúwa: The Becoming of the Man, a short film and photo series exploring the transformation of Black identity in the Western world.
He is currently co-leading the Change Your Calgary civic arts campaign (launched June 2025), which uses cultural storytelling and visual interventions to engage Black communities in the upcoming municipal elections. Through Tim Meduna Visuals, Tim continues to build immersive and socially rooted projects that connect personal truth to broader conversations on culture, love and community.
