Artist Biography
Polina Kaulio is a Calgary-based theatre designer and interdisciplinary artist currently completing her MFA in Theatre Design and Technical at the University of Calgary. Her practice investigates scenography as an essential dramaturgical voice that actively shapes theatrical meaning, audience perception, and storyworlds. Through her research, she explores how scenography operates as an independent dramaturgical form—constructing layered, spatial, and sensory narratives in contemporary performance. Polina collaborates with local companies including Quest Theatre and co-directs MurMur Theatre, where she continues to develop immersive, experimental works grounded in minimalism, surrealism, and multi-sensory engagement.
