Artist Biography
Jiwoo Kim is a Korean-Canadian animator based in Calgary. She graduated from the Alberta University of the Arts with a Bachelor of Design and a minor in Animation. Her passion for animation comes from its ability to engage and connect with audiences. Through her artistic practice, Jiwoo aims to retell everyday experiences and struggles in absurd and comical ways, offering new perspectives for navigating difficult situations. She is currently working on a personal project titled Cowman, a love story between a hardworking farmer and his beloved cow. Together, they face difficult situations and undergo a dramatic transformation, but ultimately persevere through their unique perspective on life. Cowman will be completed in summer 2025 and is being prepared for the festival circuit.
