Artist Biography
Gisele Ardosa is an Asian Canadian emerging artist from Toronto, currently based in Alberta as a professional dancer with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks. A 2024 graduate of the BFA program at Toronto Metropolitan University and recipient of the Lipson Family Endowment Award, Gisele has performed repertoire by renowned choreographers including Lea Ved, Kim Cooper, Guillaume Côté, David Norsworthy, Roberto Campanella, and Robert Glumbeck. As an emerging choreographer, her work has been showcased at prestigious events such as Fall For Dance North, Toes For Dance CGDF, Innovative Ballet Theatre, and the Solocoreografico Festival in Frankfurt, Germany. Gisele’s contemporary dance aesthetic blends gestural elements with influences from ballet, modern, street styles, and jazz, deeply rooted in her exploration of dance as a form of documentation. Her work examines human connection and complexity, often through improvisation and collaboration. Gisele’s choreographic practice documents the experiences of herself and her dancers, bridging physical and emotional gaps through movement.
