Artist Biography
Artist Biography Darya is a dance artist originally from Grodno, Belarus. Dance language has always been her passion and she has dedicated her life to sharing this across diverse cities and countries. Before moving to Calgary, Darya worked as a choreographer at the Grodno Regional Puppet Theatre and directed her own dance studio, Freestudio. The political climate in Belarus eventually led her to leave her role and close the studio. Her professional journey includes training at the Grodno Drama Theatre and participating in international programs such as Impulstanz in Vienna, Tanznetz in Germany, and in summer schools across Europe. Over the years, she has worked in various dance projects, including roles in But Not Me (Sweden-Belarus) and performing at the Bialystok Puppet Theatre (Poland-Belarus). Now based in Calgary, Darya continues to share her love for dance, building connections and meeting beautiful people.
