One Yellow Rabbit and Wordfest Co-present
Playlist
Created and Performed by Ivan Coyote
As part of the 2027 High Performance Rodeo
What song changed you?
Before we had the language for who we were, we had the soundtrack.
The songs on the radio and the records tucked away in our family collections. The lyrics scribbled into notebooks by kids searching for something they couldn’t quite name yet.
In Playlist, Ivan Coyote digs through the musical archives of a lifetime to uncover the queer messages hiding in plain sight. Equal parts hilarious, tender and nostalgic, this unforgettable storytelling performance explores how music can become a lifeline, a secret signal and a map toward becoming ourselves.
Featuring Clyde Petersen’s animated visuals, Playlist is a mixtape of memories, identity and the songs that helped us find our way home.
