Artist Biography
The thread that keeps one from getting lost, that is what music is to Miarlequin. A whimsy pop artist, she moves through reality in ways that blur the boundary between the familiar and the strange. Neurodivergent and shaped by a nonlinear experience of reality, she has glimpsed fractured and unfamiliar worlds. Inspired by poetry and magic realism, each new music release aims to change and transform her own manner of writing, exploring different genres and styles. Her music often follows themes of mental illness, chronic illness and neurodivergence, as well as existential themes like mortality, existence and the miraculous nature of experiencing the universe through our own eyes.
Miarlequin holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from the University of Calgary and has released her debut EP and three singles. She has participated in the TD Music Residency and the Write On! Program. Bringing her emotional vulnerability to each show. Ever wandering, she moves through existence with curiosity, open to what the universe may reveal. At her core, Miarlequin seeks truth in a world that is both unimaginably vast and small.
