Aduke Akinwumi

Artist Biography

Aduke Akinwumi (They/Her) is a Nigerian multi-disciplinary artist, with a focus in print media. Their art practice is connective at its base and their work serves as a means of interpreting the world and her personal experiences. “Creating art is part of how I understand life. It is an expression of my life experiences and the world as it affects me and those around me.” Aduke’s work features in its majority a striking use of line, contrast and perspective. Many of Aduke’s pieces are the product of a process of interpretation and exploration. Her work, at current has focus on the Black nude female body, fantasy, and the relationship to home.
