Born in 1982 as a punk rebel upstart troupe of creatives, One Yellow Rabbit (OYR) has shape-shifted into a cultural treasure that transcends the narrow geographical boundaries of city and nation. Located in the community hub of Werklund Centre, the Big Secret Theatre has been the creative working space of One Yellow Rabbit since 1987.

Since their inception, One Yellow Rabbit has produced countless plays spanning decades of seasons and appeared on stages around the world. Most notably, OYR are the founders and curators of the renowned High Performance Rodeo, an international festival of the arts which has taken over Calgary every January for decades. OYR is also committed to fostering the next generation of wild theatre and provides emerging artists mentorship through their BeautifulYoungArtists program.
